I was hoping to see things that make building powerful Web apps possible. To name a few:

  • File System Access
  • Async Clipboard
  • File Handling
  • Window Controls Overlay

There's quite a gap between browsers if you compare How Fugu Is My Browser? scores.

Another angle worth exploring could be the hardware access APIs:

  • WebUSB
  • Web HID
  • Web Serial
  • Web NFC
  • Web Bluetooth
  • Web MIDI

Hola Thomas! Can you elaborate a bit more here? I am not sure I understand the context.

I guess the question boils down to: why are the mentioned APIs nowhere on the dashboard? I understand the source is "developer needs" (this probably needs some more context in the blog post and on the dashboard), so I'm wondering if no one was asking for those features.

@captainbrosset It looks like you've worked on that page, so do you have more context here?

@sanketj as FYI. I don't see Async Clipboard API on this dashboard. We are actively working on adding more capabilities to this API, and it's a highly requested API from sophisticated sites like Adobe, Office online, Figma etc.

Also @dandclark. Should EditContext API be included on this dashboard?

Thanks @tomayac and @snianu, lots of good suggestions here. As we iterate on the dashboard (cadence for that TBD) we'll include each of these in the list of features we consider for inclusion.
