Background

  • Operating System: Windows 11
  • CKAN Version: 1.31.2
  • KSP Version: 1.12.4.3187

Have you made any manual changes to your GameData folder (i.e., not via CKAN)?
Only to remove manually installed mods that CKAN failed to detect so that I could redownload them through CKAN

Problem

Describe the bug
During the download of a large mod (Stockalike Station Parts Expansion Redux) on slow internet, my PC went to sleep. Upon waking it up, CKAN was a blank white window with just the two green progress bars and no other UI elements, and it was frozen. It never recovered, requiring me to close it and start from scratch.

Steps to reproduce

  • Apply changes that require downloading something
  • Windows goes to sleep
  • Wake up and see CKAN frozen

Expected behavior
CKAN should either suspend during sleep or at least have an option to prevent the OS from going to sleep, if either is possible.

There are ways to tell the OS not to sleep, but they all seem to use Windows native calls rather than cross platform...

Windows is notorious for ignoring everything. I have often resorted to an application called "Don't Sleep", caveat being that I haven't used it in years, so wouldn't know if it's been bought out by some adware company, so YMMV.
