CHKDSK on Windows 7 repeatedly "finds" filesystem corruptions and "fixes" them #47

Window 7 is indeed able to read the UDF 2.01 file system created with format-udf (mkudffs from udftools 1.3).

Whenever I run CHKDSK on Windows 7, however, it "finds" some errors and "fixes" them:

chkdsk

The next time I run CHKDSK against the same file system, it finds the very same issues.

I understand this most probably can't be easily fixed, but probably the issue should be mentioned in the documentation/release notes.

Also, speaking of the Windows breed, ReactOS has recently gotten support for UDF (see CORE-4375).

But I don't think its CHKDSK was updated accordingly (looking at the commits, there's only a file system driver), nor was I able to test and confirm that.

But it's probably worth mentioning at fsck-tools-for-UDF wiki page.

If CHKDSK claims to find and fix bugs but doesn’t, that sounds like a bug in CHKDSK, which should be reported to Microsoft.
