Handbrake-cli on Ubuntu using Flatpak missing QSV support

I have handbrake 1.6.1 (not from flatpak). And I have handbrake-cli 1.6.1 and IntelMediaSDK plugin (both from flatpak). Handbrake recognizes the Intel QSV, and uses it properly, but handbrake-cli does not recognize QSV. It appears that the flatpak distribution is not recognizing the IntelMediaSDK plugin, depite it being installed. The QSV plugin in flatpak is listed as for version 1.5.1 of Handbrake, and also is dated before QSV worked on handbrake 1.6.1. Does the QSV pluggin need updated in flatpak?

I don't believe the CLI flatpak has support for QSV at all but I could be wrong. You'd need to use the GUI version.

Even then, Recommend you use the Nightly as there are changes which make it less painful.

Also, just to confirm, what CPU is this?

The CPU is the Intel I-9 (12900-K). I have the GUI encoding with both QSV and Nvidia (via my graphics card). So, I know the PC has the right drivers. I am using the CLI version in a bash script as I am converting all my video files to H265. I would like to run two
processes simultaneously, one converting with Nvidia and the other using QSV. I will switch to the nightly build for CLI. The GUI is working well for me since you enabled QSV in 1.6.1

You may need to compile the CLI from source. I have it in the back of my mind that QSV is not supported on CLI Flatpak version.

Was it ever confirmed that QSV support is definitely not in the CLI? I'm running Ubuntu Server (on an N100 nuc), so I don't have access to the GUI, just the CLI. QSV is supported on the N100, so I'd love to take advantage of that. I'm also using the 1.7.3 version of the CLI installed from Flatpak

I believe CLI flatpak fr.handbrake.HandBrakeCLI package has no support of QSV, but you can run CLI without GUI interface via flatpak fr.handbrake.ghb.

flatpak run --command=HandBrakeCLI fr.handbrake.ghb -i ~/input.mp4 -e qsv_h264 -o output.mp4 should work

Actually, was just trying to install the fr.handbrake.ghb version, but it wants to install gnome along with it. Was trying to avoid adding any GUI to this install :D
