currently the global cigar/srmt covarage is around 59G in size

what are the options of better suitable formats?

the options what I investigate currently are

  • is if it is feasible to unpack the geotiffs raster, to make it accessible via just a memory look up.
  • add a possibility to specify a raster-database to retrieve the attributes.
