This appears to be relaated to the Insert Nodes Dialog that's trying to open.

Need to have more infornation... like what are your scale and screen resolutions set at? They could be affecting the size of the content trying to fit within a fixed layout. Any pattern (and measurement file if any) would be helpful. Otherwise I can't seem to reproduce the error on my end.

Although I was using a laptop I had the QT creator on the monitor screen connected to it with a scale of 150% and display resolution of 1920 x 1080 a Dell.

That's what I had a feeling of. I will try and change my display settings and see if I can reprodice the error. In the mean time you may try changing yours to lower the scale... to 100% and 125% and see what happens. BTW... I don't suggest using 150%. It's just going to chop off too much of the text with eliding in the widgets, and it's not practical to design the forms to display @ 150% as it would neccesiate using a smaller font, which then makes the display for normal displays too small without making all the dialogs huge.

Thank you @DSCaskey, I will change it. 150% is the default and (recommended) scale on my computer, not sure why.

Or you can play around with different display resolutions. I assume since the monitor display is 1920x1080 to keep the text scaled the same that's why 150% is the recomended. At any any rate keep me posted as to whether changing your display settings has any effect, and I'll keep trying to reproduce the warning to see what I can do to prevent it.
