Screen saver starts terminal with repeated instances of windows with code in them that close as soon as they open

When screensaver starts the normal graphic is replaced with repeated occurrences of terminal windows opening and closing.
Steps To Reproduce

1. Let windows start the screensaver
2. Watch the terminal show

Expected behavior

I expected the BOINC screensaver to run.

No, nothing that organized. The terminal windows kept popping open and closed. This looks like what was supposed to happen.
